Pitarque, which is located on “The Silent Route” is accessed through a striking gorge with a trout river, amongst dramatic rock formations and scenery. It has a permanent population of around 50, with a welcoming bar/restaurant and a shop for basic provisions. At weekends and during holiday periods, many more people visit the village to enjoy its welcoming atmosphere, clear mountain air, abundant wildlife and great hiking trails. There is a well-stocked mini-market in Aliaga, 15 minutes away and the city of Teruel can be reached in just over one hour.
